SUBSTANCE: method for deforming articles by bending for straightening them or for releasing technological stress comprises steps of drawing article along its axis and deforming it by sign-variable bending according to periodic law in such a way that frequency of bending deformations is more than percentage speed of drawing article along its axis. It is possible to move bending wave of article along drawing axis at rate determined according to mathematical formula, or it is possible to move bending wave of article along drawing axis according to oscillation law with frequency determined by mathematical expression. Amplitude of bending wave may change according to oscillation law with frequency determined by design mathematical formula. Improved effect of straightening is achieved due to increased number of bending deformations of article in the result of their increased frequency.
