FIELD: equipment and processes for deforming continuously cast slabs. SUBSTANCE: squeezing tool piece of paired squeezing tools of slab-deforming press includes squeezing shaping surfaces acting upon one of both lengthwise lateral sides of slab. Said surfaces are arranged in parallel or inclined relative to direction of slab motion and they are adjoined one to another. One arranged in parallel squeezing shaping surface corresponds to squeezing forming faces inclined relative to lengthwise lateral surface of slab. Behind first squeezing shaping surface, one or several additional squeezing shaping surfaces are formed; said surfaces have inclination angles less than that of first squeezing shaping surface. Distance between boundary edges of first additional inclined surface measured in plane parallel relative to squeezing shaping surface is approximately equal to half distance between boundary edges of second additional inclined surface measured in the same plane. Above mentioned angle values are normalized. According to invention it is possible to perform process being almost rolling process. EFFECT: elimination of formation of wavy ridges on article. 18 cl, 11 dwg
