FIELD: electrometallurgy, erection and repair of aluminum electrolyzer. SUBSTANCE: joint includes steel beam, bimetal steel and aluminum adapter, cathode chute in the form of flexible package of aluminum strips and aluminum bus of cathode bus arrangement rigidly linked in sequence. Novelty lies in that cross-section of adapter is equal to cross-section of steel beam. Joint is fitted with steel plates to shunt contact of bimetal adapter with steel beam placed with clearance of 1.0-10,0 mm relative one another along perimeter of bimetal adapter and steel beam, perpendicular to line of their contact. In this case total area of cross-section of steel plates is less or equal to area of cross-section of steel beam. EFFECT: improved electrical properties of joint, reduced electric resistance, prolonged service life of cathode section, improved working conditions during repair of electrolyzer. 10 cl, 2 dwg
