FIELD: electrolytic aluminium production. SUBSTANCE: contact connection consists of current-conducting bus constructed in the form of packet of aluminium strips connected with steel bloom of cathode section of electrolyzer through bolt connection in such a way that copper layer is in contact with end part of bloom preliminarily cladded with copper. Cross-section of tip is equal to that of aluminium bus, ratio of summary thickness of copper layers on bloom and bimetal copper-aluminium tip to thickness of aluminium bloom being 0.01-0.02.
