FIELD: fiber production from stock of bast-fiber crops. SUBSTANCE: method consists in flattening of stalk layer; subsequent squeezing by bending rolls, one of which is rubber coated; crushing and scratching by acting on lateral stalk layer with ribbed perforated surface along fibrous yarn by pulse directed perpendicular to stalk layer and subsequent vibration imparted to stalks by ribbed surface. Device for embodiment of said method has flattening unit, with flattening rolls and banding rolls, mechanism of stock transfer and several similar modules for crushing and scratching. Each module presents a chamber accommodating vibrating members and members transmitting vibration. Chamber is located in device body for motion in vertical plane. Mechanism of stock transfer is installed to under chamber and made in the form of conveyer with ribbed perforated surface. EFFECT: increased output of similar long fibers by minimum damage to their natural structure. 9 cl, 6 dwg
