FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves driving and additionally driving piles through desired depth by means of hammer, determining actual failures, and calculating ultimate resistance of ground at pile foot. Novelty is that in varying length of pile under tested mass of effective part of hammer is also changed considering mass of pile with cap according to 1,2<mh.e.p./m2<3, ratio, where mh.e.p. is mass of hammer effective part; m2 is mass of pile with cap; in calculating ultimate resistance of ground at pile foot, factor η depending on pile material is found from formula η = 10G/Amh.e.p./m2, where G is weight of hammer effective part; A is cross-sectional area of pile.
