FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes charging of burden bearing-iron into blast furnace and fuel parts. Fuel part of burden consists of coke and bituminous coal. Consumption of bituminous coal is determined by control parameters and regulation of flow rate of coke and bituminous coal during charging. In so doing, determined prior to charging is thermal stability of bituminous coal and post-reaction strength of coke stability whose values are used as control parameters for finding potential of formation of fine fractions in burden fuel part, and maximum consumption of bituminous coal is determined by definite relationship.
