FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves charging waste lining of blast furnace casting yard chutes containing at least 50% of carbon into furnace comprising burden ore portion, with lining being charged into furnace ore storage bins after collecting half the ore charge; conveying waste material by conveyor into charging ladle or to conveyor for feeding burden onto furnace mouth. Weight W(l) of lining to be fed is determined as ratio of W(l) of daily delivery charge of lining into ore storage bins to number of charges C supplied into furnace per day, and weight C1 of coke per one charge is determined on the basis of expression C1=W(l)C1 = W(1)•C1/Cc Cl/Cc, where C is weight of coke per one charge before initial charging of lining into furnace; Cl, Cc is content of carbon in lining and coke, respectively.
