METHOD OF CONCENTRATION OF COAL SLUDGES Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: concentration of minerals; concentrating mills; coal mining and by-product coke industry; concentration of sludges containing clay component. SUBSTANCE: method of concentration of coal sludge at coal particles having size lesser than 0.5 mm and clay component is just continuous process at circulating water supply; method includes delivery of coal sludge thinned with water to radial thickener; motion for forming pulp; water is additionally supplied to thickener in the amount required for washing-out optimal amount of clay; amount of coal sludge and total mass of water are brought to ratio of 1:15; pulp is moved in thickener at rate of one revolution per 20 minutes; coal settles in lower portion of thickener; clay particles remaining in pulp in suspended state in the course of passage of pulp through thickener, taking and dehydration of coal concentrate are drained and tailings are thickened.
