WATER PUMP CASING Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water pump transferring liquid under heat exchanger conditions in operating internal combustion engine. Proposed pump casing is essentially monolithic body provided with internal hole with coaxial ring surfaces. Combination flange with ribs and shaped projections and holes is made on outer surface of casing. Radius groove and additional internal ribbing are made on inner surface of housing. Hole is made in body of casing to deliver lubricant to bearing unit. Two of ring surfaces, first of which is mated with chamber, and chamfer proper are divided by coaxially arranged key slots of trapezoidal shape in length. Small bases of trapeziums are located at border of first and second ring surfaces. Border surface of second and third ring surfaces is made changing into base of ring groove. The later is mated over radius with third ring surface. Fourth ring surface conjugates with radius groove. Dummy lug with hole, shaped lug, bosses and radius recess are made on flange. Rectangular lug in form of plate is made coaxially to recess along normal. Hole to feed lubricant is made in plate which is arranged at angle relative to axis of key slots and axis of shaped lug. Casing strengthening lug is made on outer surface from side of key slots. EFFECT: enhanced manufacturing capabilities. 5 dwg
