LIQUID PUMP BASE HOUSING Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: housing of pumps intended for handling liquid under conditions of heat exchange of working internal combustion engine. SUBSTANCE: base housing of liquid pump is provided with flange on side of datum mating surface and end face. Flange is bonded over periphery by radius surfaces and rectilinear cuts. Housing is provided with boss with faces. Flange has four holes of different height in pairs. Surface of flange has cylindrical bead for connecting the flange with mating part of liquid pump housing. Cylindrical bead changes to conical surface limited in height by circular band. End face is circular in shape and two fins are made on housing on side of end face, third fin being perpendicular to these two fins. Fastening unit with hole is strengthened with two parallel fins; one of these fins forms angular joint with other fin. Flange is provided with circular profile and technological locking projections. Housing is made from material. Faces are provided with L-shaped and inclined butts. Flange surface is provided with three limiting projections. Taper surface has five equidistant cylindrical projections. Height of part of circular profile coincides with height of parallel fin which forms angular joint. Fastening unit is provided with blind hole having spheroidal bottom. Central hole is designed for mounting bearing unit; this hole has starting chamfer and groove. Housing has threaded hole for supply and filtration of lubricant of bearing mounted in central hole. Central hole has circular projection and is intersected by another hole. EFFECT: enhanced technological capabilities due to facilitated finishing of housing to required datum sizes on standard mechanical equipment, automatic lines inclusive at full- scale production of liquid pump housing. 3 dwg
