FIELD: electrical engineering; motors depending for their operation on toothed harmonics of magnetic field. SUBSTANCE: motor has salient-pole stator whose poles carry teeth on their inner surfaces; m-phase winding of 2 mp coils wound on poles; switching device; and toothed rotor. Novelty is that each phase of m- phase winding has two parallel circuits; first leads of first circuits in each phase are series-connected to positive pole of power supply through controlled switches; first leads of second circuits in each phase are series- connected through controlled switches to negative pole of power supply; second leads of first and second circuits in each phase are connected into two stars whose neutral points are shorted out; each circuit has p coils connected in series or in parallel; rotor tooth number is chosen from equation Zz = 2mp(Zs+ K)±(2m±1), where Zz is rotor tooth number; m is number of phases, where m = 2, 3, 4 Е; p is number of pole pairs of m-phase stator winding; Zs is stator pole tooth number; K is number of teeth arranged in addition on stator pole. Motor is characterized in optimal proportion between pole width and stator bore width. EFFECT: improved performance characteristics of motor; enhanced specific torque per mass unit and efficiency. 5 cl, 2 dwg
