ARMORED VEST WITH POSITIVE FLOATAGE Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: means of individual protection against hitting by bullets, fragments and blank weapon with a simultaneous support of the human on the water surface. SUBSTANCE: the armored vest with a positive floatage has the textile part accommodating the armor blocks and damping members and means for supporting the floatage. The means for supporting the floatage is made in the form of a sealed chamber inflated automatically when it gets into water and turns over the human with the face up. The chamber is located in the breast section of the textile part behind the armor block, its external overall dimensions are within the contour of the armor block, and the textile part is made with a reserve volume providing for a shift of the armor block at inflation of the chamber. The means for supporting the floatage is provided with a system of automatic gas filling of the chamber. EFFECT: provided free motions of the human, sighting and shooting from small arms, not subjected to damages, worsening the floating qualities at an action of a hitting element. 2 cl, 2 dwg
