FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves substituting defect in destruction zone of C1-C2 vertebrae with autograft taken from iliac bone wing pretreated so that its surfaces as tightly adjacent to the C1-C2 vertebrae defect surfaces as possible. The superior graft edge is formed as a trough tightly enveloping anterior edge of the great foramen or anterior arc of C1 vertebra atlas, its inferior edge being U-shaped in correspondence to defect bed in C2 vertebra.
