FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is new method of preparing nicotinic acid amide. Said method comprises in first stage passing (a) 2-methyl-1,5-diaminepentane in gas phase at temperatures from 300 to 400 C and excessive pressure from 0 to 10 Bar above catalyst containing, as active component, at least oxide A1 or Si having relation between acid centers and main centers of more than 2 on surface and specific surface of which is greater than 40 sq.m/g converting into 3-methylpiperidine which at temperatures ranging from 220 to 400 C is allowed to pass directly above dehydrogenation catalyst and is converted into 3-nicolin, and then in second stage (b) 3-nicolin is allowed to pass at temperatures from 280 to 400 C above ammoxidation catalyst consisting of vanadium, titanium, zirconium and molybdenum oxides at V2O5/TiO2/ZrO2 molar ratio from 1:1:2 to 1:12:25 and containing MoO calculated for V2O5 in amount of 0.54-2.6 wt.%, and 3-cyanopyridine thus prepared in final third stage (c) using microorganisms of Phodococcus genus, is transformed into final product. EFFECT: industrially applicable and economical method. 18 cl, 11 ex, 2 tbl
