FIELD: catalysts in organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: catalytic system contains vanadium, titanium, zirconium, and molybdenum oxides, where V2O5:TiO2:ZrO2 molar ratio ranges from 1:1:2 to 1:12:25 and amount of MoO3 constitutes 0.54 to 2.6 wt % of amount of V2O5. System is used in oxidative ammonolysis of alkylpyridins at 280-400 C. In this case, conversion of 3- methylpyridin, for instance, does not require water steam and ammonia is used in virtually stoichiometric or slightly excessive molar amount.
