FIELD: biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: methylated derivative of thiophene, furan, pyrrole, thiazole, pyridine, pyrimidine or pyrazine without substituent near carbon atom adjacent to oxidizable methyl group is incubated with strain of microorganism Pseudomonas putida ATCC 33015 assimilating xylene or with strain of microorganism Pseudomonas putida DSM 5709 assimilating cymene. Oxidizing microorganism cultures were treated preliminary for microbial enzymes induction. Incubation is carried out at pH 4-11 and temperature from 15 C to 50 C. Substrate-heterocycle is added once or continuously up to its concentration in cultural medium 5 wt.-%/volume, not more.
