FIELD: medicine, therapy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to macroincapsulation of secretory cells in hydrophilic gel, the use of macroincapsulating secretory cells and retention of secretory cells by macroincapsulation method. Macrogranule with secretory cells, in part, pancreatic islands, is formed from collagen or agarose. After polymerization of collagen the hardened macrogranule is covered with agarose solution and immersed in mineral oil. For treatment of patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, for example, the prepared macrogranules containing effective amount of secretory cells are implanted to patient. Macroincapsulation of secretory cells in hydrophilic gel provides the functionality and nonimmunogenicity of macrogranule which after transplantation is retained for the more time. EFFECT: improved method of preparing and treatment, valuable medicinal properties. 20 cl, 8 dwg
