FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: ear tag has female and male members. Male member has basic body and projecting neck. Neck end remote from body forms base and head connected to base and tip. Tip has cutting edges converging at apex part and is made from material more rigid than other parts of head and base. Female member is adapted for engagement with head. During cooperation of female and male members of tag tip compression occurs due to pliability of remaining part of head and base to facilitate passage of head with tip into pocket of connecting part of female member. Subsequent expansion of tip prevents escape of head from engagement with female member. In case excessive force is applied, head is broken off from neck part. EFFECT: simplified construction and protection from mishandling. 5 cl, 7 dwg
