FIELD: food-processing industry. SUBSTANCE: extruder has working chamber with discharge branch pipe and die, two- thread auger of variable diameter, and drive. Working chamber is composed of five modules with different casing and auger configuration. First module contains charging, mixing, compressing and plasticizing zones arranged in succession, conical casing with inner diameter reducing toward die. Diameter of auger shaft is increased in compressing and plasticizing zones. Auger coils adjacent to mixing and plasticizing zones are equipped with slots whose effective section area in mixing zone exceeds that of plasticizing zone. Second module has first pressure stabilizing zone. Casing of second module and auger shaft have uniform diameter. Two-thread pins of rhombic profile are attached in equally spaced relation to auger shaft. Auger and casing have increased degree of surface finish. Third module has compression and homogenization zones arranged in succession, and conical casing with angle of taper reducing toward die and auger shaft with increasing diameter. Fourth module has second pressure stabilizing zone and auger shaft of uniform diameter carrying equally spaced two-thread pins of rhombic profile. Fifth module with compression, homogenization and dosage zones arranged in succession has reducing threading pitch in compression and dosage zones. Auger mounted in second and third zones has reverse thread and slots in coils in the vicinity of homogenization zone. Extruder is used for extruding raw plant materials for producing, for example, corn chips. EFFECT: improved quality of ready product due to using minimum processing of raw plant material and reduced loss of nutrient substances in extruder working chamber. 6 dwg
