METHOD OF FORMING UNIVERSAL SET OF REINFORCED CUPS FOR SHAFTS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed invention can be used in manufacture of new machines and equipment of different application both in servicing and repairing. Proposed method includes the following stages: making of set of base cups by curing rubber in moulds around skeleton. Inner diameters of cups included into set correspond to standard diameters of shafts to be sealed within preset range of sizes, and their width is equal to minimum size set for standard cups with preset inner diameters; making of set of cylindrical elastomer blanks; making of ring elements by mechanically machining cylindrical blanks; glue connection of base cups included in set with ring elements over mating cylindrical and/or conical and/or end face surfaces to form sealing cups of required type-sizes. Invention provides highly economic method of forming universal set of reinforced cups for shafts with provision of operative manufacture of machines and mechanisms of all types at single-unit and small-scale production, and quality repair of any equipment, including that differing from national standards.
