FIELD: electrical engineering; induction motors used in particular for construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves following procedures. First measurements are made of active resistances of stator and rotor windings, insulation resistance of stator and rotor windings, absorption coefficient, capacitance ratio measured at different frequencies of test voltage, and temperature of stator windings; measurement results are compared with specified limits. Novelty is that active resistances of stator and rotor windings are measured first while temperature of bearings, brush pressure, and brush length are checked upon measurement of stator winding temperature. Proposed method provides for diagnosing condition of motor as a whole using special means without (or with minimal) disassembly, detecting latent troubles in advance, and determining preventive maintenance and repair procedures required.
