BALLAST CLEANER Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: track facilities. SUBSTANCE: ballast cleaner has welded frame on two self-propelled bogies, rake-out device, conveyors for evacuation of litter and contaminants, hopper-funnel for laying clean ballast in track, and meter. Ballast cleaning mechanism is made in form of horizontally arranged high-speed conveyor with endless gauze belt over which agitator is installed. Agitator consists of driven screen roller and vibrator secured on common frame whose upper end is hinge- coupled with machine frame. Mechanism to separate ferromagnetic inclusions (particles) is arranged over output end of high-speed conveyor. This mechanism consists of transporter with permanent magnets secured on belt. Drive drum with flexible blades to direct ferromagnetic inclusions into hopper is installed under output end of transporter. EFFECT: improved quality of cleaning, operation reliability and reduced power consumption without decreasing capacity. 3 dwg
