FIELD: ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: optical device includes optical workpiece which curvature radius changes thanks to formation of discrete spherical parts transverse to surface. Thin interlayer with refractive index different from refractive index of optical workpiece is deposited over formed surface of optical workpiece. Optical workpiece carrying thin interlayer is then covered by layer of polymer resin lying above which restorers curvature of optical device. Each spherical section determined by spherical parts and corresponding parts of external surface of above-lying layer changes spherical optical magnification of adjacent spherical section by value of 0.03-0.05 diopter. EFFECT: design of multifocus optical device which excludes undesirable astigmatism. 28 cl, 4 dwg
