METHOD OF DELIVERY OF LIQUID FUEL INTO VEHICLE TANK Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2178746 C2

FIELD: transport; fuel filling. SUBSTANCE: proposed method comes to delivery of liquid fuel from fuel filler reservoir under pressure. Prior to filling, fuel is cooled by cooling medium, for instance, liquid nitrogen, passed through fuel. Fuel is cooled to temperature not lower than temperature providing reliable starting of vehicle engine after filling and mixing with fuel left in tank. Temperature of fuel mixture after tank filling is chosen to meet the following requirements: for automotive gasolines tm= 0,5*t10%-50,5°C for diesel fuels tm= tcl+(3-5)°C where tm is temperature of fuel mixture in tank after filling in, C; t10% is temperature of 10% gasoline evaporation by boiling, C; tcl is diesel fuel cloud temperature, C. Prior to cooling, fuel is distributed in closed space and fed in portions alternately decreasing and increasing delivery pressure. EFFECT: reduced fuel losses at vehicle filling-in and negative action of fumes of liquid fuel forming in fuel tank in summer and in hot climate regions onto ambient atmosphere. 3 cl
