FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine building, in particular to active methods and technical means designed to improve reliability of fuel feed system of diesel power units of mechanical vehicles in low temperature conditions. To this end, fuel surplus, previously heated in high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) (6) and nozzles (8), is additionally intensively heated in the cooling jacket of operating compressor (11) of the operating brake system of the basic chassis by recycling heat generated in its operation, and only then directed for drainage into tank (1), where "winter" drain fuel line (12) and fuel intake branch pipe (14) are aggregated into "drain and intake" unit, which is structurally designed either in form of a classical jet pump, or according to scheme "pipe in pipe", wherein "working" liquid is hot fuel. Besides, to minimize heat dissipation by fuel line mounted downstream of air compressor and before "winter" drain fuel line in fuel tank, its surface is effectively heat insulated.

EFFECT: technical result is increase in fuel heating in tank.
