REVOLVING ATOMIZER Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural aviation; forestry. SUBSTANCE: atomizer has impeller 1 secured on bush 2 fitted on hollow axle 4 in bearings 3. Cylindrical screen box 6 is mounted on bush 2 through cylindrical spacer 5. Located between walls 7 and 8 of cylindrical screen box is diffuser tube 10 made in form of two truncated cones 11 and 12. Lesser bases 13 of truncated cones 11 and 12 connected between end face of axle 4 and deflector. Spacer 5 is provided with drain holes 17 and movable part of labyrinth seal of bearings 3. Deflector is made in form of inverted truncated cone with radial grooves. Working fluid from deflector gets on inner surfaces of truncated cones 11 and 12 of diffuser tube 10 and spreads over entire taper surface due to component of centrifugal force. Homogeneous spray is ensured due to centrifugal force through holes in tube 10. Labyrinth seal protects bearings 3 against working fluid and weather.
