FIELD: equipment for obtaining active chlorine in different systems, for example for disinfecting aqueous technological media. SUBSTANCE: method is realized due to using cyclic polarization of platinum indicating electrode in aqueous solution of electrolyte in range from cathode potential until anode potential values and measuring parameter of oxygen adsorption. Measurements are performed when electrolyte solution flows around surface of indicating electrode at rate no less than 2 cm/s. Content of hypo chlorite ions is judged according to electricity quantity at electric current of reducing hypo chlorite ion on cathode branch of cyclic Volt-Ampere curve of indicating electrode at change of electrode potential from anode potential value until potential value for beginning hydrogen adsorption or according to level of maximum reducing electric current in cathode range of potentials.
