SUBSTANCE: device that may be used, for example, in telecommunication systems to receive telephone numbers transmitted by voice-frequency code has communication-channel matching unit, low-frequency filter, analog-to-digital converter, band filter, linear detector, integrating section, four threshold elements, comb- filter unit, linear-detector unit, integrating-section unit, controlled-switch unit, control timer, first and second arithmetic units, first and second adders, first, second, and third ratio computing units, AND gate, and display unit. Device depends for its operation on estimation of several statistical pieces of information used in the course of detecting and receiving multifrequency signal for discriminating useful signal from channel noise and parasitic voice signals. Used as statistical pieces of information are data on estimated signal power in information frequency band, ratios of first and second maximums for each of two groups of signal frequencies, and input signal power distribution over frequency band.
