FIELD: lighting fixtures; ignition of gas-discharge lamps. SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes choke, capacitor, circuit of capacitors connected in series (3, 4), rectifier built around diodes, capacitor, discharge member, transformer, gas-discharge lamp and threshold member. Choke is connected to one input lead; its other lead is connected to lead of secondary winding of transformer whose other lead is connected with other lead of lamp; one lead of threshold member is connected with other lead of lamp and other input lead. One lead of first capacitor is connected to other lead of choke and other lead is connected to center tap of second and third capacitors and different leads of first and fourth (8) diodes; other lead of capacitor is connected with anodes of first and second diodes, one lead of fourth capacitor and one lead of discharge member whose other lead is connected with one lead of primary winding of transformer (11) whose other lead is connected with other lead of capacitor, diode cathodes and other lead of capacitor; other lead of threshold member is connected with different leads of diodes. Dinistor or gas-filled discharge unit or air discharge unit may be used as threshold member.
