APPARATUS FOR CLEANING AND SORTING OF FOREST CONIFEROUS SEEDS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: forestry engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has charging hopper, orienting and sorting device composed of cylindrical shafts arranged in parallel one with another and rotating in opposite directions, contaminant receiver and seed receiver. One of the shafts of orienting and sorting device is composed of four sections with annular grooves of different width on its surface. Width of grooves in adjacent sections is increasing from charging end of orienting and sorting device to its discharge end and corresponds to maximum length of seed in each of separated fractions. Length of sections is decreasing from charging end of mentioned device to its discharge end and is determined from mathematic expressions. Apparatus is used for secondary mechanized processing of forest coniferous seeds. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of seed cleaning and sorting processes. 4 dwg
