ECOLOGICALLY CLEAN HYDROGEN ENERGETIC SYSTEM FOR VEHICLES AND ELECTRIC CARS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2179120 C2

FIELD: hydrogen energetic system for use in transport. SUBSTANCE: proposed hydrogen energetic system is based on use of hydrogen formed at decomposition of water. For this purpose fresh water is taken from river or other water reservoirs and electrolyte is prepared. Then gaseous hydrogen is generated in high pressure electrolyzers using electric energy of underground non-attended nuclear power plant. Chemical compression of hydrogen is carried out in transportation containers with use of intermetallic compounds. Then compressed hydrogen is dispersed through automobile filling stations. Hydrogen-air mixture is used as fuel in electric cars. Hydrogen is filled in to self-contained chemical compressing unit of vehicle where it interacts with air in low-temperature electrochemical high-pressure generator with porous electrodes. Generator provides direct electric current driving vehicle wheel motors. EFFECT: provision of effective production and transportation of hydrogen, improved safety, production of oxygen for atmosphere, enhanced safety and efficiency of vehicles in service. 3 cl, 2 dwg
