FIELD: repairs of pipelines in case of pipe damage and in replacement of defective section of pipeline with new one. SUBSTANCE: method includes shutting off the pumped products on defective section, localization of defective section by inflatable shut-off members through preliminarily cutting-out of process holes; removal of gas (degassing); replacement of defective section with new pipe length. Process hole is made by explosive device containing inhibitors of oil-product vapor ignition, and 25-30 ms before explosion, water curtain, containing saturated solution of inhibitors of oil-product vapor ignition, is sprayed by explosion and defective section is shut-off by inflated shut-off members.
