FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention provides method for heat treatment of iron powder resulting from compressed air-mediated atomization of cast iron melt including decarburizing and subsequent reductive annealing, the former being conducted under argon containing no more than 0.01 vol % nitrogen. In this method, temperature of decarburizing annealing is reduced from 950 C to 900 C and duration of this procedure is shortened by 15-20%.
