FIELD: devices for checking physical characteristics of nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: device has normalizing units for signals arriving from control-rod position sensors and core energy release check-up sensors, computer system connected to them for periodic computation of controlled variable, at least three backup units used to continuously compute controlled variable, and respective number of signal shaping units connected to them and used for starting emergency protective gear in case this variable has dropped below setting value. Each continuously computing unit is made in the form of model of controlled variable as function of reactor power; its first input is connected to one of averaging outputs of signal normalizing unit of energy release sensor and second one, to one of outputs of computer system. EFFECT: simplified design; enhanced precision of reactivity margin check-up and speed of response to its inadmissible drop. 1 dwg
