FIELD: waste water treatment. SUBSTANCE: acidic metal-containing waste waters formed on chemical and petrochemical plants employing acid metal-containing catalysts are neutralized by mixing with sulfur-bearing industrial waste waters containing alkali, which are preliminarily oxidized. Mixing process is carried out in turbulent mode at Reynolds numbers Re > 1000 until pH of mixture reaches 7.0- 11. At this moment, stable suspension of heavy metal hydroxides is formed.
