FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: process of opencast mining of steeply inclined kimberlite deposits includes working of stripping to project depth in stages with formation of flanks with parameters allowed by stability, liquidation of flanks, finishing of mass of mineral resource. Completion of stripping to project depth with formation and liquidation of flank are carried out before boundary of intermediate bottom of stripping is reached. Flank of stripping is built up by superhigh steep ledges under ultimate angle of liquidation at stag of finishing of mass of mineral resource in near-flank pillars, beneath boundary of intermediate bottom of stripping. EFFECT: process makes it possible to raise efficiency and completeness of excavation of stock of mineral resource with reduced extent of opencast mining and justified decrease of factor of stability margin at finishing stages. 1 dwg _
