FIELD: protection of transportation pipe lines against corrosion, gas lines in particular. SUBSTANCE: insulating joint of pipe lines protects pipe line against corrosion due to cathodic polarization with supply source in form of galvanic cell consists of threaded joint of pipe unions connected with ends of pipe and sleeve. Innovation of invention consists in availability of projections at ends of sealing centering washers are mounted in cavity between projections and pipe unions on either side; these washers have radial holes coaxial relative to projections of sleeve where pins are located; sleeve is provided with holes for supply of sealing material and vent holes for evacuation of air; threaded joint of pipe unions and sleeve is made at preset clearance which is filled with sealing insulating material. Circular insert made from insulating material. Circular insert made from insulating material is fitted between pipe unions. Invention contains description of galvanic manganese-magnesium cell and method of sealing pipe line joint. EFFECT: enhanced protection of local section of main gas pipe line against corrosion; enhanced reliability of joint and adaptable power supply source. 12 cl, 3 dwg
