FIELD: production of titanium dioxide. SUBSTANCE: proposed method is based on interaction of vapor of titanium tetrachloride with oxygen for production of titanium dioxide. Oxygen is introduced into reactor in at least two points: in first and second units introducing oxidizing gas. Temperature of oxygen introduced in reactor in second oxidizing gas introducing unit is higher, lower or equal to that in first oxidizing gas introducing unit. Second unit may be located before or after introduction of entire titanium tetrachloride in reactor. Titanium tetrachloride is introduced in reactor at rather low temperature, below 427 C through first titanium tetrachloride introducing unit. Reaction temperature in reactor is at least 700 C. provision is made for second addition of titanium tetrachloride in reactor through second titanium tetrachloride introducing unit.
