FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of nonmagnetic pipes for carcasses and protective cases of telemetering systems used for control of drilling trajectory of holes. Invention proposes austenite steel containing carbon, manganese, silicon, chromium, nickel, nitrogen and iron taken in the following ratio, wt.-%: carbon, 0.01-0.10; manganese, 8.5-10; chromium, 16.0-18.0; silicon, 0.8-1.5; nitrogen, 0.2-0.8; nickel, 1.0-7.0 and iron, the balance. Nickel content is determined by the ratio: (5-7) - [N]-0.2/0.15 where [N] is nitrogen content. The use of the proposed steel ensures to decrease errors in control of drilling trajectory and provide high corrosion stability in acid media with high content of salts and high creep limit value. EFFECT: improved properties of steel. 1 tbl, 1 ex
