FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing stainless steel of martensite-ferrite class. Invention proposes corrosion- resistant steel containing components taken in the following ratio, wt.-%: carbon, 0.01-0.07; silicon, 0.4-0.8; manganese, 0.4-0.8; chrome, 15.0-17.0; nickel, 2.5-4.5; copper, 1.6-3.0; niobium, 0.15-0.35; iron, the balance, being in accomplishment of the ratio: Cr + 1.5Si + 0.5Nb/30C + Ni + Cu + 0.5Mn = 1.7-3.6. Proposed steel is designated for making highly loaded articles working for twisting and bending under dynamic loading in corrosive acid media, in part, for making shafts for petroleum immersion pumps. Invention provides the enhancement of strength in retention of high resistance to corrosion cracking in acid media with high content of alkaline and alkaline-earth metal salts, nitrates, sulfates, chlorine ions and hydrogen sulfide.
