FIELD: nondestructive tests of industrial pieces of equipment such as pipelines and other pieces having non- linear surfaces. SUBSTANCE: transducer has encased sensing element incorporating support one of whose parts is made in the form of piezoid-mounting cylinder and other one is contracting towards piece of equipment under inspection and protruding beyond case. Newly introduced in transducer are two sensing elements and acoustically isolating matrix with three holes wherein sensing elements are rigidly fixed so that their center lines are in alignment with pentahedron edges; bottom base of pentahedron faces piece of equipment under inspection and is formed by straight lines passing through contact points of contracting parts of supports. Fixing device is placed inside pentahedron; length of any side of pentahedron bottom base is chosen from definite condition. Pentahedron is, essentially, truncated pyramid whose smaller or larger base faces piece of equipment under inspection. Matrix is made in the form of body possessing third-order symmetry of rotation. Fixing device is, essentially, spring-loaded member mounted for connection to piece of equipment under inspection; center line of fixing device is perpendicular to bottom base of pentahedron and crosses its center of gravity; matrix is made of liquid material mainly that incorporating components evaporating during hardening and acquiring desired geometry and porosity in process mold.
