SUBSTANCE: invention relates to conjugates of interferon of the formula (I): where R and R¹ mean independently each of other lower alkyl; X means NH or O; n and h¹ mean whole numbers and their sum is from 600 to 1500 Da; and mean molecular mass of polyethylene glycol links in this conjugate is from 26 000 Da to 66 000 Da. Invention relates to also a method of synthesis of conjugate polyethylene glycol/d-IFN showing antiproliferative activity and to method of treatment and prophylaxis of immunomodulatory diseases. Conjugate polyethylene glycol/d-IFN shows the prolonged period of half-life in circulation system and plasma time, decreased immunogenicity and clearance and enhanced antiproliferative activity that is accompanied with decreased antiviral activity.
