METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF PERIPHERAL NERVOUS SYSTEM OF PATIENTS WITH GUNSHOT INJURIES AND FIGHTING TRAUMATA Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: traumatology, designed for treatment of the peripheral nervous system of patients with gunshot injuries and fighting traumata. SUBSTANCE: the injured extremities are subjected to the effect by interference currents applied to the injured section with the aid of mutually intersecting pairs of electrodes. The electrodes are placed on the injured extremities irrespective of the point of injury in the zone of innervation of the injured nerve, as well as on the reflexo-segmental zone of the respective injured extremity. In the process of one treatment procedure first the effect is rendered on the respective reflexo- segmental zone, and then on the zone of innervation of the injured nerve, the procedure lasting for 10 to 15 min. The effect by interference currents on the injured extremity is accomplished by four pairs of interacting electrodes, two of which are placed on the extremity segment. In the presence of the painful syndrome treatment of injuries of the peripheral nerves during the first 3-4 days is accomplished within a frequency range of 0 to 100 Hz, and then the treatment is continued at a frequency of 0 to 10 Hz.
