METHOD FOR A TRADE GROWING OF GIANT FRESH-WATER SHRIMP Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: pisciculture, pond fish farms. SUBSTANCE: an artificial increase of total period to grow giant fresh-water shrimp in ponds up to 5.0-5.5 mo (April-September) is performed in 2 stages, where at the first stage one deals with growing of shrimp postlarva up to young one of 0.2-2.0 g weight portion in April-May in an earth pond isolated against environment by a transparent covering at 20-30 C water temperature, at the 2nd stage - growing young ones to achieve a trade weight portion of 50-80 g during June-September in an open finishing pond at 22-30 C natural water temperature and 1.0-1.5 m pond's depth. Moreover, pond's water depth at the 1st stage is 0.5-0.8 m. Method enables to obtain giant fresh-water shrimp in area of moderate-continental climate. EFFECT: improved results to obtain higher trade weight portion in shrimps, increased efficiency of production in question. 4 cl, 1 tbl
