FIELD: chemical industry; methods of cleaning lithium from admixtures. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes mixing lithium carbonate with distilled water at ratio of 1:(3-5) followed by hydraulic grinding at temperature of 10 to 40 C. Apparatus used for realization of this method is made in form of rotor with disk fitted on shaft which is provided with pins located over concentric circles and covers with pins which are located in between rows of rotor pins; pins of rotor and pins of cover are cylindrical in form with sickle-shaped recesses over entire length of pins. Chemical admixtures of sodium and potassium are washed out of crystals of lithium carbonate and are dissolved due to grinding at temperature of 10 to 40 C.
