FIELD: organochlorine compounds, ecology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of detoxification of polyorganochlorine waste containing high-boiling and resin-like substances where polychlorobenzenes are the main components. Method is carried out by hydrogenation of waste with molecular hydrogen in an aqueous solution of alkaline reagent in the presence of palladium on carrier as a catalyst at increased temperature and pressure. Hydrogenation reaction is carried out in biphase system water-hydrocarbon. A mixture of benzene and cyclohexane is used as hydrocarbon source. The ratio of hydrocarbon and polyorganochlorine waste to be detoxificated is 0.5-3 ml of hydrocarbon per 1 g of polyorganochlorine waste to be detoxificated. Sodium hydroxide 10-20% an aqueous solution is used as an alkaline reagent. Process is performed at 60-130 C under pressure 10-50 atm. Method provides elimination of hardly utilizable waste. EFFECT: improved method of detoxification, enhanced effectiveness of process of detoxification of polyorganochlorine waste. 2 cl, 1 tbl, 24 ex
