FIELD: medicine, applicable for manufacture of bone prostheses and in restorative surgery. SUBSTANCE: the composite porous material includes a fibrous reinforcing base and a matrix, the reinforcing base is made in the form of a frame having vertically installed bars and horizontal layers, each formed by the bars, the bars are molded of carbon fibers, and the matrix is made of pyrocarbon. The bars of each layer are oriented relative to the bars of the subsequent and previous layers at an angle of 60 deg. The method for manufacture of composite porous material consists in formation of the reinforcing base in the form of a frame of bars placed in layers, molded of carbon fibers, oriented in each layer parallel to one another, then additional bars are introduced in the formed vertical ducts, and the matrix is formed by precipitation of pyrocarbon from the gaseous atmosphere containing at least carbon alone at a temperature exceeding the temperature of its decomposition until the material mass is changed at least by three times.
