FIELD: powder metallurgy, particularly, products from carbide- containing hard alloys applicable for cold and hot machining of metals and alloys, for instance, by cutting. SUBSTANCE: method consists in hardening of products from carbide-containing alloys by heat treatment . Conditions of heat treatment are selected from relation Tsin. < Ttr. < Tp, tmin. ≤ ttr. < tp, where Ttr. is temperature of heat treatment; Tsin. is temperature of product sintering in presence of liquid phase; r tr. is duration of heat treatment; t min is minimum time of heating required for formation at treatment temperature of liquid phase layer 3 mc thick in surface layer of product determined by calculation or by experimental methods; Tp, tp are temperature and duration of heat treatment whose combination result in distortion of product shape. EFFECT: increased degree of hardening and resistance to impact loads. 1 tbl
