FIELD: technology of production of coagulant applicable at stations of drinkable water treatment. SUBSTANCE: method includes treatment of aluminum oxide or hydroxide with hydrochloric acid. Aluminum oxide or hydroxide is treated at temperature of 170-180 C and pressure of 6-10 kgf/sq.cm for 5-6 h. After cooling and filtration of obtained mixture, introduced into mixture is aluminum or iron iodide in amount of 0.1-0.5 wt.%. Other version of method includes treatment of aluminum oxide or hydroxide with hydrochloric acid at temperature of 170-180 C and pressure of 6-10 kgf/sq.cm for 5-6 h. Prior to cooling of produced mixture, calcium oxide or carbonate is introduced into mixture, and after cooling and filtration, aluminum or iron iodide is introduced in amount of 0.1-0.5 wt.%. EFFECT: extended range of means used for production of efficient coagulant. 2 cl, 2 tbl, 8 ex
